Follow the step-by-step instructions below, you’ll be able to get Instagram Access Token.
You should make sure that you have:
- A Facebook account.
- An Instagram account with media.
Firstly, go to developers.facebook.com, click My Apps. Then, hit the Add a New App and select App Id Type (as you can see in the screenshot).
After that, you will find a pop-up to set the App Display Name (for example, Element Pack) and click Create APP ID to start up the process to get Instagram Access Token.
Once you’ve created the App Id and are in the App Dashboard, navigate to Settings > Basic, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click Add Platform.
Add your website’s URL, and save your changes to the Instagram Authentication app.
Step-2: Configuration: Instagram Basic Display
Hit the Set Up so that you can access Instagram Token.
Click Products > Instagram Basic Display > Basic Display. Hit the Create New App.
Enter the name(such as Element Pack) of the Facebook app you just created and click on the Create App.
Scroll down and navigate. Then, hit the settings.
Look at the image above. Enter your website’s URL in the field marked. For example:
Valid OAuth Redirect URIs
Deauthorize Callback URL
Data Deletion Request URL
After you enter a URL, save your changes.
Add an Instagram Test User
Navigate to Roles > Roles and scroll down to the Instagram Testers section. Click Add Instagram Testers.
Enter your Instagram account’s username and hit submit to send the invitation.

Open a new web browser and go to www.instagram.com and sign in to your Instagram account that you just invited. Navigate to (Profile Icon) > Click on the cogwheel icon next to the “Edit Profile” button > Apps and Websites > Tester Invites and accept the invitation for the Instagram access token.
Your Instagram account is now eligible to be accessed by your Facebook app.
Navigate to App Dashboard > Products > Instagram Basic Display> Basic Display page and scroll down to User Token Generator section. Click on “Generate Token” button.
Log in with your Instagram account. Allow the app to access your Instagram account data.
Click on “I understood” checkbox then copy your Instagram Access Token.
Finally, you go to the WordPress Dashboard > Element Pack > API Setting > paste Instagram App ID, Instagram App Secret, and your Instagram Access Token in the Instagram Access. As you can see in the screenshot above.
Long-lived tokens are valid for 60 days and our app will refresh your token automatically before they expiring. You will not have to manually regenerate your access token.
